On June 17th, a hemp crop of eighteen acres was planted on Strohfus Stock Farm in Hastings. It marks the first hemp to be planted in Minnesota since 1950.

The partners have teamed up with the Minnesota Department of Agriculture to take part in the Hemp Pilot Program. The pilot program was introduced to study and monitor the cultivation of industrial hemp and its viability as a marketable crop.

One of the partners, Ken Andersen, has a long history of hemp advocacy and is a lobbyist for hemp legalization in the United States.
