The popularity of Hemp as Medicine has risen over the past few years, but how does one learn the basics about it? Read on to find out.

Hemp as Medicine

CBD, (Cannabidiol), is a compound found in the cannabis Sativa plant. It is extracted from the hemp variety of cannabis Sativa, which means it contains no more than 0.3 percent tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive compound that gives marijuana users a high. Marijuana THC levels are between 10 and 20 percent.

Unlike marijuana, hemp has thousands of uses, and CBD is just one of them. Cannabidiol is extracted from the hemp plant and blended with a carrier oil to form CBD oil. It is used to treat several health conditions such as chronic pain, anxiety, and seizures.

It’s important to note that CBD oil and hemp oil are not the same. CBD oil comes from the flowers of the hemp plant, while hemp oil is extracted from the seeds. Hemp oil is a food product that is highly nutritious, loaded with vitamins, minerals and the healthy fats.
