Catherine Usher is reminding all of us just how long hemp has been used for a variety of products. For decades, hemp was used for all kinds of things, including rope, sails and clothing. The fibre is made by extracting it from the hemp stalk.
When compared with other modern materials, hemp is a much more logical choice. With synthetics and plastics taking years to breakdown and leaving harmful effects on the soil and water supply, hemp is the obvious alternative. It grows easily and biodegrades naturally. Clearly, it is a much more sustainable solution to a world of the future.
