One of the most brilliant Uses of Hemp is for building, and there’s a DIY tiny house kit that is easy to assemble and very affordable.
Husband and wife team, Drew Oberholtzer and Anastasiya Konopatskaya, designed and developed a DIY structure made from hempcrete. The idea was spurred during the pandemic when the couple, working from home with two children, wished for a separate office space in the backyard.
The couple own the architect-led design company, Coexist Build. They design and build with healthy and sustainable systems in mind, which is how they discovered hempcrete, a hemp-based material that is mould, fire, and insect resistant.
Their tiny home DIY kit is called the Traveler. It can easily be assembled with a team of two, and the only tools needed are an electric drill, mallet, and a screw gun.
