Kentucky’s hemp industry is growing fast, and it’s getting the attention of licensed processors and investors.
At a recent news conference in Lexington, Agriculture Commissioner James Comer revealed the numbers – there are 121 participants for hemp growing this year, amounting to 1,742 acres in total. This compares to 20 participants in 2014, the year the Farm Bill was introduced.
Kentucky’s new hemp industry has created many jobs for people, and the numbers will grow as the hemp does. Hemp results in job creation, economic growth, and the many Uses of Hemp will create a more sustainable industry.
