Sustainable agriculture is one of the many Uses of Hemp. Bob Watson, an environmental activist, writes about eliminating pollution caused by Iowa’s current model of agriculture. He foresees a need to spend billions of dollars to reduce pollution that current methods are causing.
Watson suggests implementing crops and existing farming methods that can clean Iowa’s water and soil, making the water safe to fish from, swim in, and drink.
Hemp is one of the crops on the eco-friendly list. It is nonpolluting and can rebuild healthy soil and doesn’t depend on fertilizers. Also, industrial hemp can replace products made with petro-chemicals-based manufacturing.
