It is becoming a more common opinion that cannabis (marijuana) should be removed from the list of drugs included in the Controlled Substances Act of the United States. Many believe that criminal justice resources are being wasted on enforcing laws against the illegal use of marijuana. These laws are also greatly affect the cultivation and production of industrial hemp, marijuana’s cousin.
Hemp contains less than 0.3% THC, the ingredient that gives the high in marijuana. There are many Uses of Hemp including food, clothing, building materials, paper and fuel. It is a fast-growing plant and it’s environmental friendly to cultivate.
There are over 30 countries growing industrial hemp. It’s about time the United States let go of their fear of marijuana and start enjoying the benefits of one of the world’s greatest natural products.
