There is yet another benefit to add to the long list of Uses of Hemp – cleaning soil that has been polluted with radiation or other toxic matter.
The scientific method of using plants to clean soil is called ‘phytoremediation.’ Although mustard plants are often used for this process, experiments have shown that cannabis is one of the best plants to use for phytoremediation. 
Scientists experimented with hemp in areas contaminated by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster that occurred in 1986, and now there is consideration put towards using hemp to cleanse the Fukushima nuclear disaster area.
