The opening of a company in Wiltshire, has put Hemp in the News with hope of aid in the UK fight against climate change.
The British Hemp Company is the first in England to deal solely in UK hemp. In 2020, they obtained licenses from the British Home Office for a dozen farming areas in the UK.
Their goal is to process 150 tons of industrial hemp, and to make it into food, beauty, and health products. An added benefit to hemp cultivation, is that it is not only an easy and cost effective plant to grow, it is also very eco-friendly.
The ability of hemp to process carbon dioxide has also been well received by the British government, as a way to help them achieve their goal of zero carbon footprint by 2050.
