In Jackson, Michigan news today, a documentary that advocates the industrial hemp industry will be shown at a local theatre.
Due to federal prohibition of domestic hemp farming, industrial hemp industries import all their hemp oil for their products.
Steven Sharpe, a former businessman and medical marijuana advocate, is the organizer and presenter of a free viewing of the documentary at the Michigan Theatre in downtown Jackson. The film, “Bringing It Home,” is a documentary about a father in search of a non-toxic building material to construct a home for himself and his daughter, who has a rare disease, and was suffering with health reactions in their previous home environment.
The father’s search lead to the first house in the U.S. to be constructed out of hemp. The film features past, present and future information about the hemp industry, and of the uses of hemp on a global scale, such as textiles, building materials, food products, bio-plastics, auto parts and more.
