A hemp farmer in Saskatchewan, Garry Meier, wants to set the record straight about hemp and marijuana growing together – the two can not cohabit in the same field.
In Saskatchewan, the Johnson Shoyama School of Public Policy has just released a report suggesting that hemp farmers can aid in the effort to promote legalised marijuana-growing in the province. However, according to Meier, they are wrong. Hemp and marijuana can’t grow in the same field, because the way in which they are treated at harvest is totally different.
Also, if you are growing marijuana, you don’t want to be in the vicinity of a hemp crop, because the hemp is known to deplete the THC content of marijuana.
