At first glance, it’s hard to see the difference of Hemp vs. Marijuana when it’s growing in the fields. On Anthill Farm Agroforestry, it’s actually hemp.
Hemp is the non-psychotropic cousin of marijuana. It doesn’t get you high. Monique Milleson and her husband, Sky Ballentine, are cultivating hemp for its cannabidiol (CBD) ingredient. CBD has healing properties and is used to products such as lotions, oils, bath bombs and gummies.
Unlike marijuana, hemp has many uses. Besides CBD products, the seeds of hemp are highly nutritious and can be used as a food. Hemp fibres are used in many different ways, from rope and fabrics to building materials.
