The misunderstanding of Hemp vs. Marijuana has impeded hemp industries around the world for decades.
In New South Wales, Australia, the University of Newcastle has been conducting hemp research and discovered that hemp seed powder can remove toxins from water.
Hemp has long been overlooked because of its close association with marijuana, but hemp is a very different plant. Hemp and marijuana are different strains of the cannabis sativa plant, and although related, hemp lacks the psychoactive effects found in marijuana.
Hemp is grown for industrial uses. It’s easy and fast to grow, and it has thousands of uses, such as paper, textiles, clothing, biofuel, and food. History has shown that hemp was one of the earliest plants every used for its fibres, dating back more than 10,000 years.
