Texas lawmakers have taken a closer look at Hemp vs. Marijuana and updated the states industrial hemp laws accordingly.
This week, a bill was concordantly passed in the Texas House making industrial hemp a legal crop once again. A list of hemp products were also legalised, including medicinal hemp products that contain no more than 0.3 percent tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the element that gives the marijuana high.
Despite its external resemblance to marijuana, hemp has a much lower content of THC. The federal 2018 Farm Bill eliminated hemp from the list of controlled substances, and Texas is joining the states that have welcomed this promising and versatile crop back into its agricultural selection.
