A farm in Texas is helping to set the record straight about Hemp vs. Marijuana, by offering tours at their farm. Jennifer and Austin Ruple, owners of Texas First Hemp, are striving to unshroud the misinformation about marijuana’s cousin.
Hemp farming was legalised in Texas in June 2019, and the Ruples were some of the first farmers to receive a permit to grow hemp. Now that it’s harvest season at their farm, they’re giving tours of their operation, providing an opportunity for people to take a closer look at what growing and processing hemp is all about.
Their tours showcase the crop from seed to harvest, and they clarify the difference between hemp and marijuana, particularly the THC levels. They also talk about the meticulous guidelines they must adhere to, in accordance with the Texas Department of Agriculture. Their goal, “…is to serve and educate,” Austin says.
