Hemp was legalised in the U.S. under the 2018 Farm Bill, but the issues surrounding Hemp vs. Marijuana continue to cause problems for the new industry.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell says he’s prepared to provide an additional hemp bill that would help clarify the difference between hemp and its infamous cannabis cousin.
Truckers who transport hemp over state lines run the risk of being pulled over and arrested, as police have no way of knowing whether its hemp or marijuana that they’re transporting.
The distinguishing feature between the two cannabis plants is that hemp contains less than 0.3 percent tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), where marijuana THC levels are an average 10 percent.
Somehow, police need to be able to test the THC level of the plants.
