Hemp vs. Marijuana is a common, and normally the first, question asked when newbies are considering a new start in hemp farming.
The two, though types of the same plant, Cannabis Sativa, are very different. The biggest difference between them are the low levels of THC. THC is the the part of the Marijuana plant which gives it the high and therefore makes it a drug. Hemp, on the other hand, is specifically bred to provide food, fibre and oils and has a THC level of less than 0.3 and, therefore, is legal to grow.
The passing of the 2018 Farm Bill has bought hemp back into the fold, so to speak, to make it a sustainable and very profitable new crop in the agricultural industry. It has many advantages, not only to the industry but the environment and economy as well.
