As a result of the ongoing discrepancy of Hemp vs. Marijuana, a CBD oil producer has decided to create a product specifically for the Kansas City area, to appease local police. Mission police recently seized CBD products from a shop that carries his product, because they had a very small quantity of the psychoactive ingredient found in marijuana.
Vince Sanders, owner of CBD American Shaman, is hopeful that his new product line will keep police off his suppliers’ doorstep. Normally, CBD products are permitted to contain up to 0.3 percent tetrahydrocannabinol, but in Kansas the law won’t even allow that amount.
Industrial hemp and marijuana are different species of the cannabis sativa plant. While marijuana contains an average 10 percent THC, hemp contains less than 0.3 percent. Hemp farmers keep a close eye on the THC content of their plants, making sure it is at the legal amount of less than 0.3 percent.
