Canadian Hemp Politics still have some work to do, as farmers are still waiting for industrial hemp to become declassified.
Confusion remains about the difference between hemp and marijuana, and Canadian farmers are suffering because of it. Hemp would be a promising crop for farmers, if only the government would deregulate it, as they have done for marijuana.
The hoops that Canadian farmers still have to jump through is no joke. To register as a hemp grower, farmers still need to go through criminal record checks and submit a comprehensive plan of intent. These regulations are hindering growth in the industry.
