American Hemp Politics are making headway these days as the Senate’s Farm Bill gets closer to realization.
They might not agree on much, but if there’s one thing the Republicans and Democrats can agree on, it’s hemp. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has been the mastermind behind getting hemp into the limelight. He’s been backed by several Senators including Minority Leader Chuck Schemer and Bernie Sanders (I-VT).
The Senate Farm Bill includes a clause that would remove hemp from the Schedule 1 list of controlled substances. It’s possible that the Bill will be passed at the end of this month. If so, restrictions would be lifted and hemp would become a legal crop in the U.S.
