In Hemp Politics, the 5th Annual Jefferson State Hemp Expo had a special purpose this year – to raise awareness about Measure 91. Measure 91, which will be put to the vote in November, will make marijuana legal for Oregon residents 21 and over.
Hemp advocates were also there to inform people about the differences between industrial hemp and marijuana. “…Hemp is the sterile form of the marijuana plant that’s used for making paper, rope, all kinds of different products that is beneficial and saves trees,” said event organizer Brent Kenyon.
They raised awareness about the many uses of hemp, such as fabric, building materials, and medicine.
