In Hemp Politics this week, a legal shipment of hemp seeds arrived in Kentucky for the purpose of pilot projects being conducted by universities and private growers. The seeds were detained at the Louisville International Airport for close to a week, before agriculture officials obtained a permit from the federal DEA for their release.
The Kentucky Agriculture officials sued the federal government for stalling the delivery of the seeds, which were needed for planting prior to June 1st.
There are eight pilot projects being conducted in Kentucky, in order to research hemp for medical, environmental and industrial purposes.
