In U.S. Hemp Politics, Idaho has caught up with the rest of the nation and is now accepting applications for growing and processing the crop.
Last week, the Idaho State Department of Agriculture opened its doors to the hemp industry with its initiation of an online platform for growers to submit their applications. It’s off to a slow start, but expected to pick up.
In the first week of the online system being in operation, nineteen applications had been submitted.
Idaho became the last state to get on board with the hemp revival. In April of this year, Industrial hemp became legal to grow and process in the state, but hemp growers and producers still need permits before they can get started.
