Hemp Politics in Georgia are on board with the burgeoning new industry. A bill that will set hemp agriculture in motion has been approved by the House. Next up is the Georgia Senate.
The finalization of the bill comes after two years of work by the General Assembly. The rules surrounding licensing, permitting and testing the product, needed to be worked out. Farmers will be able to grow hemp with up to 0.3 percent tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the primary psychoactive ingredient.
With projections of the hemp industry in the billions, farmers in Georgia can now join the prosperous new industry.
