In U.S. Hemp Politics, Arizona is fast-tracking a bill that will get hemp seeds in the ground this spring, rather than summer.
Arizona State Senator Sonny Borrelli is behind bill 1003, which sets an urgent requirement for the Arizona Department of Agriculture to get the rules and regulations for growing hemp in place by the end of May.
Borrelli is eager to see Arizona farmers cash in on this profitable crop. Hopefully his efforts will succeed in providing the opportunity for farmers to plant this year.
Currently, at least twenty-five states are cultivating hemp and, if all goes well, Arizona will be joining them this spring.
