Hemp Nutrition is new to Australians, and a study has revealed that 40 percent don’t believe that hemp foods won’t get you high. The common misconception that hemp and marijuana are the same, means that millions are missing out on hemp’s health benefits.
But nutritionist Zoe Bingley-Pullin is doing her best to raise public awareness about this super food, which has only just become available to Australians.
The law that legalised hemp for human consumption in Australia and New Zealand, came into effect on November 12, 2017. The law allows hemp products with a tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content of 0.5 percent. THC is the psychoactive ingredient in marijuana.
Hemp and marijuana are both species of the cannabis sativa plant, but hemp is safe to eat and you can’t get high from it, even if you want to.
However, according to experts such as nutritionist Bingley-Pullin, there are countless reasons why adding hemp to your diet is a wise and healthy choice.
