A Colorado chef has embraced Hemp Nutrition with the creation of a cookbook that showcases just how nutritious and delicious hemp truly is.
Cooking weed edibles may be more tempting, but hemp is healthier, tastier, and much more viable in the long run. As government regulations ease, and hemp awareness grows, knowledge of hemp’s nutritional value and health benefits is increasing. Hemp is a rich source of protein, fibre, and the essential fatty acids necessary for overall good health. It’s no wonder hemp is often recommended for plant-based diets, and has joined the rank of being a “superfood.”
Chef Shadi Ramey, based in Boulder, Colorado, began taking a closer look at hemp five years ago. Cooking with cannabis wasn’t new to her, but integrating hemp into a healthy diet was a whole different ball game. She delved into an exploration of cooking with hemp and created a collection of recipes highlighting hemp food products such as hemp seed hearts, oil and protein.
Ramey’s use of hemp in cooking emerged from mere sprinkles over meals to turning the spotlight on hemp in her recipes. Her cookbook, titled ‘Hemp Can Change the World,’ will be available in November.
