Nelson, B.C. was the location for Hemp in the News this week, as a group of cannabis activists gathered for an evening in Nelson’s Hume Hotel last Thursday, to launch the ‘Women Grow’ Kootenay chapter.
Women Grow is a group of individuals with the goal to connect, educate, and inspire young people who are interested in creating business in the cannabis industry. They aim to create educational programs, seminars and community events to empower and influence women in the cannabis industry. Ultimately, they promote the success of industry leaders.
The Women Grow Kootenay chapter is the third chapter to open in Canada. There are also Toronto and Vancouver chapters. The organization began in Denver, Colorado in the fall of 2014.
