Farmers in Calloway County, Kentucky, have put Hemp in the News, as they are still busy trying to convince many, that although it looks the same as marijuana, it is not. The jobs that can be gained from this crop are just one of the reasons why hemp should be made legal.
One of the problems that many are having in the area is that although farmers and universities have been growing the crop since 2014, they still have to prove that their crop is not a drug.
With more than 50,000 uses, including oil and food, farmers are still hesitant to grow the crop because it is uninsurable as it is still listed as a class 1 drug.
