Indianapolis lawmakers remain divided about industrial hemp, putting Hemp in the News once again. Bill 1137 has spurred much debate, and although many lawmakers are in favour of hemp legalisation, some are still skeptical.
On Thursday, many stood before the Senate Commerce and Technology Committee and declared their support, recognising the immense economical benefits that a hemp industry could bring to the state.
If passed, the bill would spark a whole new industry in the state, benefiting farmers, who would be permitted to grow the cash crop, and make hemp products.
The skeptics are holding back an industry golden opportunities for Hoosiers.
