A southern Ontario college puts Hemp in the News this week, with its announcement to launch a commercial cannabis production program.
Starting in September 2018, Niagara College will offer a one-year certificate program for students interested in pursuing the commercial cannabis industry. The program will be for the licensing of marijuana, hemp fibre, and hemp seed.
The program has been given the go ahead by the Ontario Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development.
Eligible students will hold a diploma/ degree in the areas of agriculture, horticulture, or natural sciences, or an equivalent amount of education combined with experience.
