Montana put Hemp in the News this week as the state is well positioned for expansion of its hemp production and significant market growth.
Now that hemp growing has been legalized in the U.S., Montana is reviewing its potential for major growth in the hemp industry. Ben Thomas of the Montana Department of Agriculture says the law change has broadened the range of products the state can produce.
Previously, hemp was only permitted under pilot programs, and was grown for research purposes only. Now that hemp is a legal crop nationwide, the opportunities are wide open.
