It would make sense if, during Climate Action Week (Sept 20-27), there was more Hemp in the News, as hemp has the potential to help reverse our climate catastrophe.
When you think of hemp, snazzy sports cars are probably the furthest thing from your mind. Think again. In 2017, Bruce Dietzen, of Renew Sports Cars, built the world’s first hemp car.
However, the idea of building cars out of hemp was not a new one. Henry Ford invented a plant-based car in 1941. It was even fueled by plants. Imagine how far we’d be today, if Ford’s sustainable vehicle was launched 80 years ago.
