A California hemp company puts Hemp in the News this week with their announcement to expand into Kentucky. Genius Extraction Technologies makes equipment that extracts the oil from hemp and cannabis plants. The company plans to invest $400,000 in the making of a new hemp processing facility.
The plan has been underway since March, with product testing and structure organization. Early testing showed that 35 lbs of hemp can be processed in an hour. The eventual goal is to produce 20,000 lbs per hour.
The new facility will be at the Atalo’s Hemp Research Campus in Winchester, Kentucky. Genius Extraction hopes to produce 250,000 lbs of hemp for Atalo later this year.
