A unique, eco-friendly hemp home has put Hemp in the News this week. It was built on Vancouver Island and its the first of its kind in B.C.
It was constructed with building blocks that resemble Lego, and there’s something very special about them. They’re sustainable, energy-efficient and fire-resistant.
These building blocks, often referred to as ‘hempcrete’, are made with a mixture of compressed hemp, lime and water.
Builder Mark Faber, of Just Bio Fiber, hopes this hemp house, which has been named the “Harmless Home,” is the first of many.
