Kentucky made Hemp History in the 1800s as farmers grew more hemp than anywhere else in the U.S. After the first hemp crop in 1775, it didn’t take long for farmers to recognize the growing potential in Kentucky’s with its quality soil and ideal rainy conditions.
Several hemp growers made their millions, including John Wesley Hunt, Kentucky’s first millionaire.
