Another U.S. state is making Hemp History with the launch of their first hemp pilot program.
South Carolina has given the stamp of approval to twenty farmers who are now permitted to grow industrial hemp. After twenty years of wanting to grow hemp, farmer Nat Bradford is pleased to be one of the chosen few.
Last year, South Carolina voted in favour of the Industrial Hemp Bill, which allows for hemp cultivation for research purposes. This hemp pilot program elects twenty farmers who team up with universities to grow and study hemp.
The program will explore the growing conditions of the crop and, eventually, will open up new opportunities for farmers and industry.
