This year marks the 125th Olympics, but the first Olympics to have cannabis use spotlighted. Athletes are being honest about their use of cannabidiol (CBD) wellness products, which they use as an alternative to pharmaceuticals.
Olympic gold medalist Megan Rapinoe is at the forefront of the cannabis for athletes movement. Her training program includes the use of CBD products from Mendi, a company owned by her sister Rachael Rapinoe and Brett Schwager.
The company uses hemp-derived cannabidiol to create healthier and more holistic products for athletes. They have gathered a crew of elite athletes to represent and promote the Mendi brand, and hope to provide healthy alternatives to consumers in general.
