A new crop with Hemp Health Benefits will be growing in the vicinity of Perth in the new year – medicinal cannabis.
The crops will not be easy to spot. They will be carefully monitored; access will be limited to employees only and a strict security team will be in place.
Two companies, AusCann and MGC Pharma, plan to grow and produce medicinal cannabis in the area. AusCann intends to apply for a growing license this week, with a local site in mind. MGC may well follow close behind. Western Australia has the perfect climate for hemp cultivation.
There will be stringent rules and regulations for any cultivation sites with crops containing high levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the psychoactive component in cannabis.
