Hemp has been cultivated around the world for longer than almost any other crop, and it’s no wonder! Hemp is a highly beneficial plant in so many ways. Often confused with it’s cousin, cannabis, it differs greatly in that it contains only trace amounts of THC, so you can’t get high from hemp.
Hemp is good for the body, the mind, and the environment. It contains many nutrients such as amino acids, protein, vitamin E, and essential fatty acids (Omega-3, Omega-6 and GLA). These make hemp an excellent food source for vegetarian and vegan diets.
As for the environment, hemp can grow in many places and in many different types of soil. It doesn’t need as much water as other crops and it resists pests so there’s no need for pesticides, herbicides and fertilizers.
