A collaboration between Aberystwyth University and hemp industry members could give the face of Hemp Farming in Wales a new look.
The goal of the collaboration is to develop ways to diversify the uses of hemp by using the whole plant. There will also be a focus on sustainability as hemp is an environmentally friendly alternative to petrochemical products.
Hemp has many uses, including fire-resistant fabrics, building materials and biofuel. The research project aims to make hemp more appealing to farmers who are looking for different crops for land rotation.
