At Bristol Elementary School in Bristol, Vermont, a student who relies on Hemp as Medicine, in the form of CBD (cannabidiol) oil, must leave her school twice a day to take her daily dose.
10-year-old student, Aurora Husk, has had a rare seizure disorder since she was 8 weeks old, causing as many as 40 seizures a day. She has been taking CBD oil since spring this year, and needs three doses of CBD oil a day.
The school will not agree to keep the CBD oil treatment with the school nurse, so Aurora’s mom has to meet her outside the school each day, to administer the dose. As the procedure takes up to 15 minutes, it is very disruptive to Aurora’s school day.
