The New Zealand government has recognized Hemp as Medicine with the approval of CBD Hemp Oil for a teen who suffers from a severe case of epilepsy. 
Although CBC Hemp Oil has yet to be officially approved as medicine, the NZ government has allowed the U.S. company ‘Elixinol’ to provide Cannabidiol (CBD) oil to the family of Alex Renton, after 57 days of him being in a coma.
The Capital and Coast District Health Board, together with Alex’s family and 26,000 New Zealand residents, petitioned the Minister of Health for permission to administer the oil to the nineteen-year old boy, who only recently began suffering from seizures that eventually landed him in the hospital.

This is totally ridiculous.. Cannabis has been used medicinally for 1000s of years. the NZ minister is saying it is a ‘new drug’ that needs more research & strict caution & control.
Cannabis drugs, including the natural herb is being used in many OECD countries, but NZ is dragging the chain & spreading the old ‘reefer madness’ misinformation.
btw; Hemp is legal to grow under license in this country. They could have sourced the raw material & made a similar product here, rather than importing it from USA. :/
