Two families, one from Texas, the other from Brazil, share a common bond with their experience with Hemp as Medicine. In The Colony, Texas, Penny Howard holds a little girl in her arms, showering her with affection the way she would if she were her own child.
Two years ago in January, Howard lost her youngest daughter, Harper. She died in her arms at Medical City Dallas where she was being treated for a respiratory infection. Harper suffered from a rare genetic disorder, CDKL5.
The little girl in her arms, Anny Fischer, is also diagnosed with CDKL5. For several years Penny and Dustin Howard had looked forward to meeting Anny, her parents Norberto and Katiele Fischer, and her old sister, Julia. On Thursday, November 10th, their wish came true as the Fischer family arrived for a visit at the Howards’ home in The Colony, Texas.
The two families met on Facebook, bonding over their shared difficulties, and found common ground with their use of hemp oil as treatment for their daughters. It’s a contentious treatment but it helped reduce the amount of seizures immensely. Both girls, Harper and Anny, suffered with over 40 seizures a day, which affected their brain development.
