With the many Uses of Hemp, four Maori women are hoping to reinvigorate Maori rural communities with a global outlook on the environment.
The business venture, Hinemaia Hemp, has a plan to create both jobs and housing. They will grow their own hemp, use it to make sustainable building materials for house construction, and develop a farming collective in the process.
The four directors of Hinemaia Hemp were inspired by the difficulties they saw in their own communities, an abundance of unused land, and a desire to address global climate issues.
