The Amsterdam local council has found new Uses of Hemp with the introduction of GreenPees, sustainable urinals for public spaces.
The city of Amsterdam was having a real problem with public urination, or “wild peeing,” but thanks to a Dutch company, Urban Senses, they may have found the solution.
The man who came up with the idea, Dr. Richard de Vries, is an environmental psychologist and took his invention to Urban Senses who then manufactured the urinals.
There are many things going for the hemp-filled urinals. It eliminates the acidic corrosion on old and historic buildings, and they use far less water than standard toilets. These are just two of the benefits.
