A band of eager Kiwis are putting Hemp in the News in an effort to grow the industrial hemp industry in New Zealand.
Hemp is the kind of cannabis sativa plant with little or no THC, unlike marijuana or “weed’ as it is sometimes known. Hemp has a vast number of uses and is being given a new look as a replacement to other less-profitable farming pursuits.
Brad Lake, co-founder of The Brothers Green, was formerly interested in more standard farming practices. He began in rural banking but after massive declines in profitably for the dairy industry, he began to look into other ways to help bring money back to local famers.
Hemp, as his investigation showed, continued to rise to the fore as an excellent opportunity for solving many of these problems.
