Two young Tasmanian friends and now business partners, were inspired by Hemp Nutrition and its sustainability, and are now about to harvest their first crop.
Nathan NcNiece and Tim Crow were both interested in finding nutrient-dense foods that are plant-based and kind to the environment. Through their research they discovered hemp, and learned that hemp seeds are high in protein and one of the most nutritious foods on the planet.
In 2015 they were already making plans to start a hemp food business. They were talking to farmers and putting the wheels in motion, but they needed to wait for the hemp laws to change in Australia.
Last November, the regulations for hemp changed to allow hemp to be grown and sold for human consumption. This was the green light they’d been waiting for.
