Tucson, Arizona, brings Hemp in the News this week. The Arizona Senate is considering an industrial hemp bill.

Hemp is an easy crop to grow, and it could possibly become Arizona’s newest crop… but only if the senate decides to legalize it. The Arizona State Senate has a new bill in the works, that will take a closer look at that possibility.

Although the plant is sold in the U.S. in the form of hemp clothing, oils, and building materials, it is illegal to grow it. This is due to it’s family member, marijuana, but unlike marijuana, hemp contains less than 0.3% THC, the ingredient that gets you high.

The benefits of hemp are becoming more and more recognized in the U.S. and worldwide, and Arizona might just become one of the states that gets on board with this plant of opportunity.
