A medical cannabis farm in Missouri advocates Hemp as Medicine with the cultivation of a hemp strain that produces cannabidiol (CBD) oil, most commonly used to treat severe epilepsy.

Mitch Meyers, operator of the farm, opened the cultivation centre to provide medical cannabis in Missouri. Her future goal is to deliver the hemp strain to Illinois as well, where it is difficult to acquire.

Meyers has an extensive marketing background and as owner of her company, BeLeaf, is dedicated to the medicinal hemp industry. BeLeaf cultivates and sells a cannabis strain that has a high CBD content. The company launched in January and has been selling strains for two months.

CBD oil has a high success rate in treating severe cases of epilepsy, especially among children who suffer several seizures a day, and who have had little success with conventional medicine. Improving the quality of life for these children benefits the whole family. As Meyers says she doesn’t just sell medical cannabis, “she sells hope.”
